Hello all. I bought a Bahama Yellow 69 roadrunner a couple of years back in good faith but when I got it I noticed a few descrepancies as compared to my old 69 roadrunner which I had for many years such as it didn't have any decals on the air cleaner and the horn wasn't a beep beep horn. Not much on the surface but there's other things too...
The interior bothered me as well as it has roll down rear windows and the interior looks more like it's from a Satellite rather than a Roadrunner. I hope I wasn't duped as I paid top dollar for the car. I have tried several decoders but keep making a mess of it somehow. Hope someone can help me.

Here's the Vin which seems kosher: RM23H9A230864
Here's the tag top to bottom:

03155 236237 9A230864
926 595 093
1X 7X N96
H2X X9 V21
RM23 E63 D32 215 903058

I also found this number stamped on the radiator support panel: A9 230884 (hope that's right its a little hard to read).
Hope someone more experianced thanme is able to shed a little light I'd be very gratefull to be able to get to the bottom of this.

Ps, No unfortunatley there is no broadcast sheet. Also if anyone knows of a sure way to spot a clone or rebirth I'd be intrested to know. Rarity is tempting many I'm sure. Brett

Its a roadrunner just by the vin# RM23H is a 2dr hartop roadrunner 383 the hard top gives you roll down rear windows. The radiator support #s you came close would be 230864 matching the vin#, Air Grabber hood and you probably have the deluxe interior like I do. Ill let some one else finish I'm short on time.

as long as your rad support stamp and the vin on the trunk jamb match the dash vin(last few numbers) you have a rm23 is a Non post car Roadrunner. trunk jamb under seal on the drivers side is where the other vin # is.
looks like the it is a 383 lynch road car w/ airgrabber
someone else will chime in and give a full detailed decode because these guys are awesome!

I can do this for you, but I can tell you already just by looking at this that you're missing the paint code. There should be a "96" in front of the H2X if this is a bahama yellow car. LR tags are a PITA. Double check and verify that you correctly copied the second line (from the bottom) or post a pic of the tag.

03155 236237 9A230864
926 595 093
1X 7X N96
H2X X9 V21
RM23 E63 D32 215 903058

Here is what I come up with:

03155: 2 Digit Gate Number, 3 Digit Base Number (unique LR tag info)
236237: Line Sequence Number (unique LR tag info)
9A230864: 9 - 1969, A - Lynch Road Assembly Plant, Serial Number
926: 383 4BBL, automatic transmission, heater, 335hp, Orange
595: 3.23 Sure Grip, 8 3/4, 11" rear & front drums
093: 727 Automatic Transmission, 383-4BBL & 440 HP engines
1X: Black Vinyl Roof
7X: Black accent stripes
N96: Fresh Air Hood (Air Grabber)
***Should have a paint code in front of H2X*** (96 was Bahama Yellow)
H2X: Trim - High, Vinyl Bench Seat, Black
X9: Upper Door Frame Paint - Black
V21: Performance Hood Treatment
RM23: Plymouth Medium Price Class, Road Runner, 2 Door Hardtop
E63: 383 cid 4 barrel V8 H.P. 335hp
D32: Heavy Duty Automatic Transmission
215: Build Date: February 15
903058: Sequential Car Number (LR builds)

Hope this helps.

Radio delete car??

Or did I miss the code?

Don't recall seeing any radio info on a LR car FT...

This tag has about as much info as I have ever seen on a LR car... :cents:

Many thanks to all that got in and responded to me. It all adds up now and it seems the car is genuine. (Phew!) :)
Interesting thing about this car is that I also have a 69 Charger R/T which is also an auto and this 'Runner can whip it. This is not the first time I have seen a 383 beat on a 440, maybe its the state of tune... Mind you I'm not complaining!

Again many thanks to all that responded. I am lucky enough to have several Mo Pars but the 69 Roadrunner will always remain my favourite. Brett
