Ok, I know it’s not a MOPAR but it’s kind of cool.
My son is 13 and loves playing videogames. I have to threaten him in order to get him outside. I suggested that we do a father and son project and that he can pick the car that he wanted to drive when he got his license.
I was imagining a 67-72 Dart or a Duster when I offered this to him. Well…he said, I like the cars that have the stripes going down the middle. I thought, Oh No a Chevelle! Well it was worst.

Picked this up last weekend:

Alex that's Cool, as a kid I wanted one of those. Now sit down with him and watch Bullit, he might want to clone that one, or is he on a GT or Shelby look.

Thanks Bob. He likes the Shelby GT 350/500 look. I'll watch it with him this weekend. I'm happy that he is not into the tuner cars. I wouldn’t be able to participate!

Looks like a great project! Hope it works out for ya. A friend tried doing that and it didn't work out too well! He and I did most of the work on the car and the kid, well not so much!

Thank you. It's cool to learn about a new car. I've been doing some research and everything matches the door data plate.

This is exactly why I wanted a Dart. But there was a better chance that he would work on it if he picked the car.

Funny you say that. his kid did pick out a Dart! He did help do some of the work and seemed interested while doing it, but most of the it was not easy for my friend to get the kid to help out! FWIW, he is driving the car now, it's a '72 4-dr, with the leaning tower of power!

that's the best looking Mustang made. 4 speed, and good enough for Steve McQueen,(and if you can talk him into a Bullet clone, it'll be green! :D ) and it's not a ricer

I was lucky I guess as two out of three sons are Mopar the other is a Mustang guy but,at least it's not a ricer.

Not to mention that there is practically NOTHING that isn't available for a classic Mustang...at affordable prices too!
Good luck with it!

LOL! Thank you. Truth be told my first 60’s car was a 69 Camaro with SS badging. I happen to be partial to MOPAR. Not just because of the cars and its history but more importantly because of the people that the brand attracts. :grouphug: Really, my passion is with 60’s through early 70’s Detroit cars.

That's the only respectable mustang body style in my opinion.

X2

I like any of them (performance versions that is) up to the '71 - '73 aircraft carrier Mustangs...and could even do one of those in a BOSS 351 or 429SCJ version if push came to shove...just zero visibility out the back...

I watched an interesting show on SPEED on Sunday about the Bullitt Mustang. McQueen himself put all the defining details on that car (chose the GT 390 w/4spd, tore out the grill badging, put the Shelby steering wheel on, etc.) for the movie according to the show.
