For those of you that are running a 383 in your RR, what type and model of spark plug are you using? Also what is the original color of the wires? Thanks.

I am using Champions Copper plus RJ12YC, they are probably comparable to factory stock. Also I have 8mm black spark plug wires installed. Originally I had ordered a set of plug wires from MSD. The wire set was supposed to be for a 383, however, when installed I had to much or excessive wires. It looked terrible with the wires draped everywhere. I ordered a new wire set from Classic Industries and they fit perfect, the right length. If you are running MSD system you might want to buy plugs and wire set that will handle the multiple spark.

I am also running a MOPAR Performance electronic ignition. Maybe one day I'll switch over to MSD system. I am having issues with my ECU at the moment, sometimes it produces 10 volts to the coil and most of the time it on sends 6.2 volts. Resulting with no spark to the distributor. I have good ground, so grounding is not an issues.

I run Champions too. Any time I go to a swap meet I always look for more. And I do find more of the nos plugs.

I run Champions, wires are black with red boots. Since I'm kinda of a Luddite I still have breaker points inside the distributor.

Are you running the orange box? From my experience they are trash. I run a Borg Warner unit in mine. No problems for the last 14 years.

Yes it is the Orange box, I tried to crank it several time last week. Results no spark, this past Sunday I check to make sure all my grounds were clean and secure. They were, pulled the coil plug wire from the distributor and cranked the engine to checked for spark. I mysteriously had spark so I reattached the distributor connection and cranked her over. She sounded great. I think I may have an intermittent orange ECU. I have heard stories about them. You say you are running a Borg Warner unit. What is the cost, and will it connect to my existing 4 pin connector.

Original wire set was black with black boots. Autopar ignition wire set IC68 on car since 1992 is orange with black boots soon to be replaced with Taylor 8mm red wires with black distributor socket boots.
I replaced Champion RJ12YC with NGK XR4 (stock# 2637) in 2003. Still have MSD 6AL box and a Chrysler distributor. Swapped the points out for Pertronics Ignitor 12 years ago, and with recent electrical harness upgrades; I am pretty happy with my set-up.
