Looking for NOS steering wheel. Right now I have one from a Valiant on there and can't seem to find a black one of these beauties. If anybody knows where to get one please let me know.

As always, your help is greatly appreciated!

Oh, and can anybody tell me if there is a difference between the 69 and the 70? As I look I see both look similar but just might be slightly different. I just can't tell if it's the age of the wheel that makes it look different or what. I found the inner horn ring so I thought I'd start with that, but it says it's to a 1970 and "may fit other years". Just thought I'd check before I make the purchase. Let me know your thoughts....

it is my understanding that there were 2 steering wheels available for 69. The stock one (horn ring), and the 3 spoke simulated wood wheel. mine has the original wood wheel, cracked but intact.

There is always the repop market as an option but you still need the pad, horn ring and horn switch http://www.pgclassic.com/260-b69

That's awesome! My question is that I'm looking at this with that steering wheel you sent me the link to. Is this the same one that is used in 1969 even tho it says for a 1970? I just don't want to be at a show (hopefully someday in the future) and have someone say "I see you went with a 1970 horn ring and not the '69". Sounds lame I know, but I'd kinda like to make sure it's the right one for 1969. Here is a link to one I found that looks pretty good on eBay. Is this any different to a 1969 horn ring??

Yeah, I like yours a lot! I would like to find one just like it, but am having difficulty finding one in semi decent shape. If you hear of anything please let me know. Need the wheel, horn pad and all the fixings! LOL!

Thanks 69hemibeep!

That first pic hides the edge that is curling up. And just use interior vinyl paint, SEMS stuff is good. I'll be home soon to look

Russ, I switched over to a flaming river column and pulled the original one with wheel attached. Mine has the black center and horn ring, it also has a leather wrap on the rim that I have never removed so I couldn't tell you what shape that is in. It is available. I can send a pic this weekend.

Thanks for looking! I did just order some of that SEM paint. I think I'm going to try it on a back seat arm rest I ordered for 15 bucks first before I try it on something more expensive. I wasn't sure which one to get, so I just got the gloss.

We'll see....

Thanks for the hot tip!

Be careful when buying some of the reproduction steering wheels. Some of them a couple of years ago had some casting issues that were being sold off as seconds, so ask on the quality and detailed pictures. The wheels are different between 69 and 70, very evident on the wood grain style sport wheel. Also there were the base wheel, one with a partial horn ring and a full horn ring. The center Road Runner head insert is available as a reproduction. The horn rings were the same between between the Dodge and Plymouth B-Body lines, so just find a nice used one and redye if necessary. The plastic wheels are relatively easy to repair. Grind down any cracks to a solid material. Fill with PC7, sand down smooth and paint to the desired color.
