I'm guessing, but most of these things have a rubber seal the fits around the glass and drops into the channel

It is called glass tape. Go to an auto glass shop and buy a little is what I do.

Yeah it's apiece rubber that fits in the bottom real tight them take a razor knife and cut off the excess

Yep, that's it, there is a web site that you can do the math on the size of the channel and it will give you the size you need, I just went through this a few months back.
