Can someone furnish pictures of the AIR GRABBER.............

My '69 RR is a N96 car and I have the hood. I want to eventually reinstall the air grabber and would like to see how it all fits together.

I'm sure I will be able to find a vendor who will furnish the air grabber kit when it comes time to do the job.

Thanks a bunch,
LG,
Mike

Note the emissions settings sticker on the hood, it also had one in the proper place next to the fender tag.

I noticed the relief for the master cylinder. Any idea what made it appear or not appear?

It is a power brake boot which brings up a conversation about originality. So a survey done some years back on moparts cleared things up, most if not all Hemi cars out of the Lynch Rd. plant got the power brake boot even with manual brakes.

Bob, is the location for the emisions sticker on the hood unique to the Hemi cars? I'm adding one back onto my 383 car and to find the correct location I've taken pictures of them on the left fender behind the fender tag. So which is the correct place for it?

So it is a Hemi thing, and not an Air Grabber and power brake booster thing for cars with big blocks?

It might be a hemi thing because they had a bracket to relocate the booster and master away from the cylinder head. We better do a survey I don't know for sure. I don't think they reproduce them with a boot anyway if you are going that route

I haven't seen a sticker in that location on any other car and have no clue how long it has been there so I left it off after paint.

No, actually not wanting to go that route. I am hoping it is not something I need to do. I have not had an Air Grabber and a power booster on the same car and neither of my air grabber setups have that piece on them.

Perhaps the bracket for the hemi booster mounted it a little higher in the engine compartment to clear the valve cover. I think I may have seen one of those, had a pin or something you pulled to move it over when you worked on the valve train.

So, I hope that is my answer, thanks.

Bob, my GTX (440 4 barrel power disc brakes) does not have the boot for the master cylinder in the air grabber box. I am sure that is a Hemi only thing due to the relocated brake booster.

Thanks, I will save this picture for when the day comes that I re-install the air grabber function.

the boot is a Hemi only thing from the factory. My PDB Hemi LR built R/T has it, but all Hemi B Body's should have had this boot. 383 and 440 cars with PB did not have the boot.

I have close ups if and when you need them

Thanks again for the photograph.
I located a vendor that sells everything in this picture.
I guess my BIGGEST QUESTION is whether I can keep the current INTAKE MANIFOLD and CARBURETOR ???? and if so, who sells the AIR CLEANER for the AIR GRABBER function.

I have an "Edelbrock Performer RPM" intake manifold and a Holley 3310 750CFM carburetor. If I can use both of these with the AIR GRABBER setup, I will re-install the air grabber hood. Otherwise, I will put that project on the back burner for now........................

(picture attached of what I have)

Any and all advise greatly appreciated as usual,
LG,
Mike

There are other vendors try gooogle. Any way the 440 setup is shorter than the 383 and should work with a high rise on a 383. I don't know if this one is steel or fiberglass but shop around. Also before buying wait for more input to make sure of the fit, others on here have pondered the same conversion in the past. http://restorationpartssource.com/s...id-1969-gtx-440-air-grabber-pgc_moreinfo.html

My latest research reveals that the 440 air grabber sits 3/4" LOWER than the 383 air cleaner so that would be the one to use. STILL, have NOT had any confirmation that it will work with my HIGH RISE intake.

I guess what I now need to know is- ¿ Does ANYONE have a 383CID with a high rise intake manifold and a functional AIR GRABBER hood ?? If so, can YOU PLEASE post some pictures............
Thanks a bunch,
LG,
Mike
