New Carburetor 600cfm Summit Racing

Hi All,

I need help tuning this carborator I just put on. I'm pretty new to tuning a car like this so all help matters

383 4 speed RR just put on Summit racing series 600 cfm and idle is really high. Adjustment screw does not change much. Sooo???? Any experts out there that can walk me through this?

make sure you accelerator cable is adjusted properly....take the cable off the carb, and note if the carb linkage moves any.

Yea had to play with my throttle cable Moved it forward a bit. If you have to pull the carb accelerator arm forward to hook it up then their is the problem. Is this a Holley carb. Or Edelbrock.

Did you plug the vacuum hose from the distributor into the upper or lower port if you have one

Sure enough it was the accelerator Cable. Need adjustment. So I took that 600 off and switched to a Holley 750 Mechanical advance. That 600 was to small.
