Any camera guys?

Hello I am interested in taking some high quality pictures of my 68 RR ( Red) I am old school and still have an old cannon camera. Any idea of a good film ( speed) or is my wifes Samsung cel phone S5 good enough?

I still have my Nikon FE. You can get film and developing at the few camera stores that are around. 100 is good since its a still pic

Ok so just ask for 100 speed film and I should be set?

Yep every thing gone digital now day's. I still have a cannon but hardly use it any more.

IMHO, I'd use the phone.

ASA100 film is the way to go, but you aren't going to have the good, fresh, made in Rochester, Kodak film that you did 25 years ago. Chances are you are going to have to buy some Fuji crap that's been sitting around. Then you don't have the processing quality that you used to too.

Your phone is 16 megapixal and nothing to sneeze at. If all was perfect, the film would edge it out... Maybe... It's not a perfect world though. Since you are asking what film to use, I assume you don't have a lot of experience with the Cannon. Getting the quality with film involves really knowing what you are doing.

The phone... First, you can take 400 pictures if you want and immediately see the results of how things are staged etc. Lighting, composition, angle etc. can all be figured out on the spot. Quality is going to be right up there with the film and it's easier to crop or manipulate after the fact.

My wife has done some professional photography... She left her film camera behind a long time ago... and her high dollar digital stays in the bag 99.9% of the time now.. She pulls out her cell phone most of the time.

I still have the old 35mm but I don't use it but they are fun, with the anticipation of how many bad shots were taken LOL

One other thing... When you are taking the pics, how high the camera is off the ground can make a difference. We all tend to stand, put the camera to our eye and shoot. If you really study car pictures that a good photographer has taken, you'll see that they are often taken from a lower angle. They squat down or use a tripod and shoot the car from about fender height.

The thing I like about digital cameras is that when, (not if) someone walks into a shot at a car show is that you can delete it and try again, you're not wasting film!!
