Switched from my Carter AVS to a Quick Fuel SS 680. Needed a 1" spacer to clear all linkage from stock intake. (Spacer may need to be milled plenty of clearance). Obviously now the hood won't fit with air Grabber. Saw articles about a 440 base being shorter, however I cannot find them anywhere. Thinking about a fiberglass 383 base that I will be able to modify for fitment?

Well I purchased a 383 4bbl fiberglass air base. Took some work to cut the needed space out of it and get it to fit just right. One pic is of metal base, other is fiberglass... you tell me which

I had to lower the height by 1" so I had to cut and re work the opening to sit correctly on the carb
