Bought two console lights and it only has two wires to hook under dash right now I have it hooked up to my dash lights but want to have them come on when you open the doors any ideas wher to hook the hot wire

Hey George I hooked my console lights up to the driver side plug for dome light the yellow and pink now the pink is always hot right but the yellow is only hot when doors are open but if you put the console lights on the dome light wire they will not come on unless you disconnect the dome light and only run the console lights don’t get it

Pink is hot when you roll the dash dimmer to the on position I do believe. Who is George

other headlight switches have the dimmer in there but Chrysler has them on that thumbwheel that makes them tough to find and pricey. I thought I saw a couple threads here that talked about how to do some maintenance/repair on these things but that was several years ago.

So all the lights work properly?
I hooked up the console lights to the yellow wire for the dome light they would work until I plugged it in the courtesy line then they would go off but the courtesy light would be on but the pink wire is hot so I just give up and hooked it to the dash lights so they come on when you turn the lights on I put led’s in them so they can stay on without melting the lens any suggestions on how to get them to work with the courtesy lights
