Hello guys, made some progress on the bird's parts.
The dash and sun-visors are finally painted.
We pull apart the sun visors painted them and then we lubed the rod that goes inside it because on the passenger side sun visor it is very difficult to move it. So hope it will work better with a bit of lubricant.
We have started to reassemble the dash frame with the glove box door and the upper pad. Also put the "road runner" badge on with the first decal of the bird. That is a great filling! Especially because when we bought the car like 4 years ago there was no bird decal on the dash. That is a small victory lol.

Now we are on the dash cluster and the gauges. We have to paint the needles with some orange color then we'll be able to put everything back together.
I will post some pics as soon as I can.

Also we made an order with miscellaneous parts like seals for door handles and everything like that, led lights for the cluster, the dome light cap, the four steelies wheels the break shoe with new wheel cylinders and break pads etc. The body plugs, every little parts needed to complete the car.

Thanks guys feel so good! After doing that when ended to work on it our hands are stills clean!! Small thing can make you very happy lol
They are not full of dust or greasy or anything like that.

Tonight, as in France we have kilometer per hour, we will put some marks on the speedometer gauge for the main speed limit.

Like 30mph 45mph 55mph 70mph and 80mph. Those are the speed limits in france that you may found.
I will take picture of that and then post them here :)

Thanks for your supports and encouragement ;)

The dash board is finally done. First stripped it to bare metal. Then epoxy primed it before a final wet sanding then apply semi flat black paint.

The top of the dash where the vin goes have been painted flat black to limit the reverberation phenomena on sunny days.

Don't have the pics of all that stuff once it was painted. I do have to take them and then post it here.

Now lets see the steering column. Last week we ordered the new bearing for it the lower one and the upper shaft bearing too. The lower one was totally worn out! I'm glad I disassembled the steering column because when I started the project I didn't planned to do it, but now, I'm glad I have because of that, and due to the fact that it will be nicer with the new paint on it :p
Once again forgot to take some pics once it was in primer and then painted sorry. I will take some pics!

The car is still in the paint shop though. The guy has moved is shop to another place so it had some delay on the paint for the car. The paint booth is now almost reassembled so he can go back at it in a few. Once I get some news of the you'll be the first to know for sure!
In the meantime we started working on the front end while waiting on the bearings for the steering shaft. Also started to put together the discs brakes.
We are moving along slowly, now we are feeling that the progress is freezing we are always on the wait for something. We can't put back together the steering column because we are waiting on the bearings, some parts of the front end can't be assembled because we have to wait for the car to make sure it fits and so on...

Can't wait to have all the parts we need and the car back at home to start the serious stuff!

Look's as though your hand's are full. Even if you don't have the car back. That is the way to go while waiting on the part's to come in their is still plenty to do. Make me wonder how far I will have to go once the body is finished. Have gone through three can's of all metal so far. Building up around the back window to make every thing look good is a lot of work. My new trim is a little different than the old trim. So filling in gaps and trying to make it all look smooth. Keep up the good work and yes keep us up to date love pic's as well. :beep:
