Well here it goes. Doing what I think is best. Could not stand large gap's so filling with All metal. Here is some pic's of what I came up with. Don't want trunk to fill full of water or the tail light bucket. Making every thing mate up tight. Now I know why it takes so long after hanging the sheet metal. Glad I am not paying a shop for all these hours. IMG_0101 (3).JPG IMG_0102 (3).JPG IMG_0103 (3).JPG

Russ, I used all metal too. Because the quarters aren't made on the ends like factory. I did some filing on the studs on the tail light bucket so I wouldn't have to use as much all Metal.

It really is not that much. After looking on U Tube of other restore projects see that they have used filler in this same place. Most of it is already primed but can see that they had to do something in these area's. Thanks Russ.

Thanks Brett. Yep using all metal and not using that much. Just can not understand why the tail light and bezel did not have any seal on it. Water can find it way in as you know. That is why the tail light bucket rot's out back their and it could get in the trunk. So going to use windshield calk when final assembling it before paint around these parts. Appreciate the insight. Your buddy Russ.

Oh man it is hard not to drive in rain here in Fla. Except during winter much dryer here. But I am bent on sealing this car up tight. Going past what the manufactory process of the car went. Seam sealer every where. Calk and Urethane every crack and craves. Catch ya latter my friend. Beep Beep.

All Metal. It's the stuff I dream of. I use that stuff like its water. Lol. Good stuff. I am with you on I don't know how people afford to pay for restorations while I'm trying to do restorations for people. Lol. No way I could afford to pay 50 a hour for "put it on,take it off,put it on" labor. Dry fitting kills budgets. All the time.

Oh and just to put it out there. You need a metal. You pretty much have been busting your ass on this car. Looking good.

But I am waiting for paint to dry and under coating. Got to get on here to get my dose of abuse so it makes me want to finish the car even more!!!!! Got my Medium Blast room today. A 10'X10' Tent. To do the rear end and K member. Had to get out of the garage the stuff is a mess. It get's every where. The gazebo off line was cheaper than me trying to build a room. Less than a hundred buck's. Just have to retrofit it for fresh air in and some kind of filter for air out.

Thank you Acme A12. Got the gasket set. Built up the rear quarter where the tail light bucket is. Filled and sanded the arear where their is little gap between the extension piece and the quarter. Had to drill Quarter extension and replace the studs that where broken or where damaged with new studs. Mounting the extensions coat the seal edge with seam sealer. Wipe down sealer then coating every thing with filler to smooth out edges to the quarter. Not looking bad. But is a lot of work more than you would think to make it rite. Well back to sanding and filling. Russ.
