Well here goes. Have any of you put a new style 1 DIN radio and CD player in your runner. Looks like the Pioneer model I am looking at will fit the hole. Any suggestions would be appreciated on what to do for face plate. Or how you modified thing's to get it in and look good.

Never put one in a runner, but put a few in other cars. Those pioneer units usually have a decent sized plastic flange that clips on after install, so dont be too worried if its not super snug in the hole.

As long as the mounting case fits in your hole (think like a cylinder sleeve), you should have no worries.

Also, most newer pioneer units will come with the plug adaptor in the back thats fully labelled, hard to go wrong from there.

Good luck.

Don't do it... It will never look right and you end up hacking something to get it to fit. IMHO, nothing looks worse than seeing a Roadrunner dash with a modern radio stuck in it. The thumbwheel radio is part of the look of the late sixties Mopars.

I've had one of these conversions done to two radios now. Not the cheapest alternative, but the results are great.

I agree Big John. But I want a CD player with the Radio Am FM also. The one I found will fit the hole and ordered the bezel for the thumb wheel radio. This should make it look like it belongs their no hack job. Thanks for the info John. Russ. :thumbsup2:
