Hey guys:

I plan on installing this intake on my 383 with stock heads. Purchased a Fel-Pro 1214 gasket kit which comes with (4) fiber gaskets and a new valley pan. Could you provide any advice on what areas to use RTV sealant, some say just between new gasket and heads and no place else. Thanks!

I spray copper coat on all head gasket's never had a problem in the past. Not fond of using sealers but it is dose have to be used in some places. I oil coat paper gasket's. That is how I learned. Read an article that if some sealer's get into the oil passages it can foam up and plug the engine. Good luck my friend let's see some pic's of what your doing.

Thanks guys, I tried to install with the fiber gasket between the intake and valley pan, could not get it to fit....I was told to try and remove the fiber gaskets and bolt it down directly to the valley pan. They said if heads have had any work and been cut that could be the issue. Is there any reason to use light sealant between the valley pan and intake?

valley pan is designed to be gasket as well. depending on if have flattened those raised areas around ports would either need new valley pan or some sealant
