Yes, I picked up my 70' Road Runner for free. I was singing Lynard Skynard''s free bird all the way home. Yes, it needs everything but is a true TX9, original paint ,383 four bbl, auto, post car. Needless to say it will be a lot of work and I will be on the major parts hunt.

This was my Free Bird. I traded a buddy a 383/727 I got out of a '67 Charger another buddy gave me. It was a T7 383 4 speed car. About the only good thing on it was the new quarter skins. If it was there, it was junk, and a lot was missing. From years of parting cars, I had most of the missing smalls, and the rebuilt 440 4 speed from a '68 Charger I had sold. I had a lot of fun in the swap meet at The Nats, searching the classifieds hunting down the parts, plus some horse trading. It was a blast to drive, and I was able to do most of the work myself. This is the day we pulled it out of my buddy's garage and were getting ready to take it home....and yours can't be any rougher this this was!

After 5 years I got it to this point....

And then at 3 am one of our neighbors woke us up yelling "your garage is on fire' Thank God for detached garages....

But this disaster got me my present car, much better over all. My point of these pics are...don't be afraid of scratches, chips, dirt, making these cars too nice to drive. They don't have to be show cars. Get them out and have fun with them!

At least it is not a rust bucket like I started with. Roll up the sleeves and get to work. It fun. :thumbsup2:
Oh, it is a rust bucket. Needs both fenders, doors, quarters, deck lid, trunk pan, outer trunk extensions, p.s. rear foot well floor pan. AMD poster child.

When mine is done it will be a new 2020 runner my buddy say's. Their is quite a bit of the car still their but replaced a bunch. Hope you don't find the inner outer frame rotted away where the drip rail weld's to. Had to find one for the driver side salvaged the passenger side . Was not in that bad of shape. If you do the work your self can save money for the other part's. But it takes a lot of time. It is something you like to do it will turn out nice. Keep us up on it and if you look into my post then you can see what I mean. Russ.
