You probably could do it yourself, sand it prime it and year one has the correct lilac color paint you could use an air brush paint gun since the horn isn’t very big or buy it new for like $75

The horns are in classic industries also. Think most are made over seas. Good luck and let us know how you decide to go and how the horn work's. I will need to get some for my car also. Russ.

I bought this one on ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1968-69-70...966255?hash=item21554c056f:g:vAYAAOxyUrZSvaWa It doesn't have the correct bracket. I'll let you know how the horn works. Russ your car is looking good. I'm trying to get my runner in the body shop for some metal work. I got my dash pads back from Just dashes. They look awesome. I just don't have the time to put them in.

I don't know of a rebuilder at this time but hold onto it if the date code is good for your car.

My car for some reason didn't have the Road runner horn when I got it, instead it had the regular dual horn setup, and it looked factory. I bought a early 1968 correct roadrunner horn, which was black instead of lilac, and had no sticker.

I Took my horn out a few years ago for cosmetics.....and thought it sounded 'off' when i put it back . I found I could 'tune' it with the screw on the back

I have a reproduction horn. It looks OK, but sounds like a Toyota or VW horn. Is there a distinct difference in the sound of the aftermarket and the original?

I would hope their was a definite sound from the runner horn than other ones. Good luck. That is what happens when you can't get an original horn.

The Roadrunner Sparton horn was lifted from a forklift. If you've ever been in a factory with old forklifts, the sound is very familiar. Testors purple spray paint is an exact match to the original color. Look in a well stocked hobby shop.

The Sparton factory closed around 1997. https://marcspartonhornregion.weebly.com/uploads/9/8/9/7/98978410/sparton_corp._story.pdf

Horns can be rebuilt, although I never used this place myself, so I can't testify one way or the other. https://www.carhornrestoration.com/

I called the horn works. He doesn’t do it because no one gets the horn restored. They get the year one horn for $75.Maybe if he gets enough people to have there horns restored, like ten people, maybe he will do it.

It probably is not worth trying to fix it. Coil could be bad broke wire or burned out. I have fixed speaker's in amp's time you get done could have bought a new one. Keep that runner running buddy. :thumbsup2:
