One of the forum members on another site had posted an aftermarket "buddy" console that was a nice piece and reasonably priced. I poked around their website and saw a custom console similar to the factory bucket seat manual transmission console, but it was for an automatic floor shift B-body.
Since I recently sold my bench seat after driving the week of Cruisin the Coast in my new Scat Procar bucket seats, knowing that I would never go back to the bench, I was wanting a console. I love the factory units, but they are pricey once you round up ALL of the components, and you have to ADD around $350-$500 for the Z shaped pistol grip shift lever!
So I worked with a prototype and here is the result. This works with the BENCH seat shift lever, and is the ideal console for anyone who changed from bench to buckets and wants a "custom" console.
The black rubber shift boot with chrome trim ring is going to match the look of mine beautifully.

You can choose from a spectrum of colors. The sides of mine are black carbon fiber, which I think will blend and transition nicely with the black floor carpet.
This console isn't on their website yet, but once I get it and install it, I am going to send them pictures to use to promote the product.

Thanks for the replies.
They are going to sell these consoles for
$350...
Less than just the Z shaped shift lever that you would have to buy to switch from a bench seat manual transmission arrangement to the factory console, and then another $1,000 plus to put a factory console together!
One heck of a bargain for anyone switching from a bench to buckets and wants a manual transmission console, and it uses the stock bench seat shift lever!

Well done and the wood grain steering wheel too. Mine had actually cracked from turning too hard with no PS. Think I filled in with Epoxy, never broke again. OK too, never liked the ‘69 dash configuration, ‘70 was awesome.

Obviously I am excited about showing off my new console..
No worries - We're pretty loosey-goosey around here anyways as you probably have noticed. I just saw that you had more than one thread going on the same topic and tidied it up. I use the Mod Tools at least once a year just to give Basketcase something to fling crap at me about... :D

You taking that yellow bird to CTC again this year? We should try to say hello if so. Taking the wife's drop top this year. We'll be in this.

Freakin' DROOL!!
 big block A body convertible!
Auto or 3 pedal?
B5 blue was my favorite Mopar color for a convertible, with white interior and white stripes since I saw a 69 Coronet R/T on a blue sky day at CtC a few years ago...
But InViolet / Plum Crazy has surpassed B5 blue as my favorite base color for a convertible...Same white interior and white stripes...There's just something about InViolet/Plum Crazy that adds that extra BOOYAH to a classic Mopar...
To answer your question, the only way I wouldn't be at Cruisin the Coast is if I was in the rectangular box that will comprise my final resting place.
Look for my Roadrunner and my event specific Purple Mohawk...
Send me a PM and I'll give you my contact information.

Thanks. We're kinda fond of her too. 4-gear. 1 of 40. 80 total made that year with an even split on A833s and 727s. Paint is actually QQ1 Bright Blue Poly which was a one year only color. Similar to B5, but not the same. Plymouth had a way cooler name - they called it Electric Blue. PM sent. We'll see you there!

I like my B-Body. At 57 with lots of wear and tear on me, that has turned into aches and pains, the interior space of my Roadrunner is welcoming, although not as large as some may think...
And the "beep-beep" horn is requested about on par with requests for burnouts. It's fun seeing children of all ages get a kick out of my stuffed plush Coyote and Roadrunner display too.
