Do you own the car or looking to buy one. One of the guy's here are sharper than I am on the decoding of the fender tag. I would think if it has that code it would be a console shift car. Just saying. Give us more info. Russ. :thumbsup2:

No. Is the car coded for bucket seats? Just trying to rule out an error on the tag or car

Dose the car have the console now and bucket seat's. I think 69Hemibeep is also talking about the fender tag. I have changed out my bench seat car for bucket seats and console. I had that arrangement in my charger and liked it. It was an automatic slap stick car. The runner was a four speed car and someone had put an automatic in it with a after market floor shifter. It was a real mess. So changing every thing and building the car the way I want it. Dose you car have a floor shift or column. Have you had the car long. You never know what people do to these cars over the years. Russ. :thumbsup2:

He also said that it was in a barn. Again I find it hard to believe seeing how the dash pad and the steering wheel is cracked all to hell!! Sun rot more like it! The only seat it has in it is the bottom seat cushion maybe a build sheet!! Did have time to go through it and see!!

That's odd then since that is the bucket seat code. All the tags I've seen (which trust me isn't many and I'm far from an expert) and have C16 also have C55. Pretty hard to have a console without buckets. Can you post a picture of the tag? Maybe one of the guys who really know the tags will weigh in. Who knows maybe one factory did it one way and another did it different. Would not be surprised.

Got me man. I just looked at another St Louis tag that had C16 & C55.
To answer your original question though I would think it would not be column shift with a console. And it would have to be bucket seats. I think though there would be a hole in the transmission tunnel if it were a console shift car, similar to a manual. But again I'm not expert, I'm guessing here.

Does it have the reinforcement in the floor for bucket seats? If it was a bench it will only have 2 holes on each side next to the rocker panels. If buckets, there will be 4 holes with reinforcements on each side.

Don’t forget, to keep up with demand Plymouth was winging it with road runners (good pun). I learned the Satellite version was slated officially as a road runner even though not body style of Belvedere. Always thought they were cloned.

Another interesting thing, 2 versions of the 383 existed, standard and hi-performance version. Something about longer duration, higher lift camshaft, good for 5 more HP or other. You can have a 383 but not correct version. Not aware of this with 440; meaning, just remembering back from 50 years.

I think we may looked at the same tag!!i kinda got everything else figured out, but I haven’t a chance to really look over the car! I’m in the Dre area and the car is in west Tx. The fender tag and the vin plate all match up
