This is one pack of X matt from East wood for 75 dollar's. I am happy with what it covered. Figure that is enough with the bed liner and all. Did have to cut and piece some places to finish it all. So I am call it done. for the floor pan. Glad to cover the back seat pan bottom. IMG_0104.JPG IMG_0105.JPG

Beautiful job Russ, looks factory. Can’t recall mine ever having that. Big item with Corvettes as those floors will really get warm from engine.

TOMRR just to say you know the exhaust pipe bend up and over the rear for the differential. Thinking that it being in the trunk area it might not be a bad idea. I will not do the trunk. Would have liked to do the hole back seat pan but hope I did enough to get a more comfortable cabin temp. After all I bed lined the trunk and all the metal of the back seat pan. Will see when I finally get the car on the road. Think that this much done will help cut down noise also. But all in all for the money spent it covered this much area. Have a good one buddy and where good gloves I did cut my self on the aluminum twice when in stalling this product it was like a razor blade sharp.

Well too, car will ride quieter, eliminate NVH. Noise, vibration & harmonics as I recall and make carpeting plusher. Makes me think, I have a section of the under carpet padding for rugs I was going to put in my trunk- same idea, never got to it this year lol. And then the jacking rails I never installed from a year or so ago. Can use one jack to lift entire side of car is idea.

So I’m thinking for floor of car proper the shielded underlayment is a must, trunk not so much. Had just mat in rr but never thought of something under that. So the newer cars have that felt string/thread backing on carpet and yes that will catch fire, so...

Those road runners had huge trunks, not a problem putting all the groceries in them with space left even. Never noticed a heat buildup but never was looking either.

I put boom Matt in my trunk also cause it can rattle a little even if you have a trunk matt

Would have liked to done the hole back seat pan and over under the package tray down into the trunk and covered the fender well's. But sprayed all that bed liner inside and out hope that it will help deaden some of the sound and heat. Also figured I am adding a lot of weight to the car. The X matt is pretty heavy. I picked up the box when getting it an said what is in it a bunch of brick's. Did not think it weighed that much when ordering it. :thumbsup2:

I bought some of that X Mat too. it is heavy and it does look like tar on the backside, there's aluminum skin and I hope it keeps down some of the road noise

It is a butyl rubber. Think it should do a good job. We will know when we get to test drive these runner. Also did my interior roof instead of the original stuff it say's it is for under hood and roof. I will take more heat I assume. I even called Eastwood with concern's that it might want to let go and drop down and the said that would not happen with this product. Will see. Russ. :beep:

The price is what sold me on it. After surfing and looking on the web at what other people are using. Saw one type they said not to get think it was peal and seal was junk. This product one made for roof and under hood the other for just interior like floor pan's and such. Good luck buddy. Russ.

I recall seeing something (I don’t remember where) about some HVAC peel n stick insulation at Home Depot that was used. From what I remember it worked well to block heat and sound and was much cheaper than the stuff we’ve all seen for automotive use. I haven’t checked it out yet to see if there is any validity to the claim.
