I have a 71RR 340 44-speed car, with a build date of January. Is there a way to know what number off the line my car was? Was it number one or the hundredth some?Screenshot_20200124-084755_Gallery.jpg

Some thing's we will never know. When buying the one I have it had the original title where it was sold and that dealer ship is no longer around. That is how far back I could trace it. No build sheet either it was long gone also. Nice looking car buddy and we all have tried to find out thing's that we just can't do. Their is a page in the back of classic industries that tell how many where built in certain year's even if this is correct.

Yes, all I know it was 1 of 438 manual 340 cars built in 71. It's still so original, it was my dream car. Fell in love with the body style in 1981, when my first car was a 72 satellite.

The 69 was the one I really wanted growing up. A buddy down the street had one and every day he rolled by made me want one even more. One of 438 is pretty good and just to say wonder how many are left on the road to day. :beep:

Yes, wonder that too. Wasn't the preferred engine for the b body cars and drive train swapping was easy back in the day.

Yes I knew that, I believe new model production started in September??
Also know the 340 Roadrunners were produced to beat high insurance rates.
I also have an old hot rod magazine write up about this. It also compares manual to automatic 340 cars and the manual rated less than the auto. But I love the feel the manual cars, hard to beat.
