I tried to put my key locks in Friday and the clips would not go in place. Could not see why till I checked the thickness of the door. I found out that with the build up of primer/paint & coats of clear it is now much thicker than OEM. I used my Dremel to sand a little off the ears on the lock but still will not fit. Has anyone else run into this. Really not sure what I should do to fix this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Big Mo.

I really have to apologize for the double post. I look at this site all the time but do not post. I am trying to learn.

No problem with double post Big Mo. Wish I could help. Their where so many things when doing body work that you just have to do on you own. I am hoping that someone will have an answer to your problem. Now I am going to check mine out and see if I have that issue also. Thought that clip was a spring type clip don't remember rite now. Russ.

Yes that is a spring clip. My problem is the lock will not come through the door far enough to allow the clip to go between the door and the little ears on the lock.

If that would work think of putting some type of silicone on it so it don't leak. Good Idea 69Hemibeep.

Sorry it took me so long to reply but I installed the locks with gasket and made a gasket for the inside so the clamp would not be against the door metal. Seems to have worked ok.

I saw that trick some where or was told of that using a hose clamp. Hope I don't have that problem but will remember that Idea. Thanks Big MO.
