I replaced the rubber weather strip around the vent (wing) and in the process of installing the windows. The replacement rubber fits fairly well but at the front corner of the wing it bulges away from the glass slightly. Has anyone of you ever have this happen.

Have not gotten to that point yet Mo. Where did you get the replacement strip from. I will be doing all that before long hope someone has an answer on this. Do you have pic's of the problem. Russ.

So you speak of these gasket company's 69fan. I have been buying mine from Part's mix for the car. Do you think they are as good or are one of those company's making them for part's mix.

I got a kit from Detroit muscle. Don't know who makes them. I thought they made them.
I don't have very much experience with weather stripping. I know my friend tells me Steele products are some of the best also more expensive. I did get Steele rubber trunk seal and really liked it. One of those deals where I purchased 2 of same item.

Have you down loaded the pic's on your computer. That is what I do with all of mine. Then click upload a file and go to you pic's select which pic you want and click on it then hit open on the computer tab in the screen tab. Maybe that will help you out. We can't post pic's in conversation's though. Only in a Forum. Did not grow up in the computer age but have had to learn as I go along. Yes to speak of ordering twice on an Item I am guilty also. Ordered two of the same trim for the car. Just figured to save it in case something come's off. LOL. Their is an activator for lack of word's to explain it when using the 3M window seal calk so it will stick to the wind shield or glass and the car or frame. Come's in a bottle with a swab. Help's it stick to the glass. Their are video's on how to do it on the computer. Found it on looking for installing front windshield's. Good luck buddy.

Can't help with the wing windows but Precision windshield gaskets are good I've put three in over the years and once again threw an OER gasket in the trash after it tore

Do what it tore. Man that would piss me off. We spend enough money on these parts don't need to have them brake or tare when trying to install them. What type of junk are they selling any way's at OER.
I think what I will do is get my daughter or grand daughter to help me with pic's. Now if you want me to get pissed off let me get at the computer and something not go well. I need to correct my statement on Steele trunk seal. It has been years since I bought the trunk seal for the bird. I thought I bought It from Steele. I looked today and they are Soff Seal. I was installing the top door seal today. As I said I bought a kit from Detroit Muscle with door and trunk seals made by Metro super soft. Today we installed top seal on door but it just did not look good and I was not happy with the fit. So same as trunk seal I remembered I also bought top door seals(Soff Seal). We were really happy with it. So I guess what I am saying is they are not all made alike. I did use some of the things I got from Detroit. Hope this helps.
I don't want to be a pain but I am learning as I go. If I can help anyone building a car that makes me happy. I found out today when putting the bottom seal on the door the little plastic push in clips will come out of the rubber. You can put them back in very carefully. Also the holes they push into must be open. I had to take a drill and clean a couple out of rust and dirt. They do fit .Do what it tore. Man that would piss me off. I think I know what you’re talking about on the vent wings the way it is designed they will bulge out a little cause the glass is in the middle of the gasket and when you turn the glass the front of the gasket is either on the inside or the outside then the other end is the opposite and you have a little bulge there I mean that’s the way mine is

Are you saying you need a fifth grader to help. I thought the same thing. You will get the hang of it Big MO just hang in their buddy.
I have something in mind to try to fix this. I am not so worried about the inside but water could get in on the outside. I will try my idea to see how it works before posting, (may not work).

After all of the years, we know that the best door seals are XYZ and the best roof rail seals are ABC and MNO puts out the best trunk seal. Many people confuse Metro Super Soft with Soff Seal. They are two entirely different businesses.
As for as the pucker in the vent window seal, I am not referring to the area around the vent pivot point. Rubber extrusions can vary greatly with the slightest variation in speed, temp, cooling rate, component mixture, etc. Even with relatively precise machinery, a slight variation in atmospheric conditions will impact the result of the finished product.

Hi, Big Mo here and I posted about the pucker in the wing window seal. What I was referring to is at the front bottom of the wing the seal puckers outside and inside. It looks to me that the seal will not go forward far enough to allow the seal to stretch out completely. Maybe the seal cannot go forward in the frame far enough to allow it to stretch out.
Usually if there is a pucker in a seal, there is too much material if there is nothing obstructing the fit of the seal around the perimeter of the frame. Not sure which brand of the vent seals that your using, but I have a good ideal.
