Never figured you would give her up. But sometimes we do move on. My buddy tells me all the time you never sell any thing. He is rite just keep fixing them up and using them. As long as they make part's for them I can get to fix them. Russ.

Considering that Dave Watt's (former owner - he restored it) immaculately restored, matching numbers A12 RR (3rd one built IIRC, and had previously sold for ~twice that) hammered yesterday @ Mecum for $55K, if someone offers you $60K for a 383 car you ought to take the money and run...even if they live next door to you... You misread my post. The A12 that Dave Watt restored and sold previously for $100K+ just sold this past Friday for $55K. It is still frequently referred to as "Dave Watt's car" even though he sold it several years ago, which is why I identified him as the former owner.

Literal translation: The market is down.

Sounds like there are a lot of us out there that would really love to get hold of some "realistic" data on numbers of specific production types... for example how many 1969 Ivy Green post-cars with 383's; 4-speed; décor package; nothing power and bench seats were built and are still out there... and how many 69 B-5 blue post-cars; with 727; power brakes and steering were built and still out there? There are so many combinations out there with different color and interior combinations and engine combo's plus all the option packages. I have read several articles stating that Chrysler did a really terrible job at maintaining any kind of accurate records. Apparently it has been one of the biggest unsolved mysteries of all time when it comes to these Mopars. When you go online and see how many 68-70 Road Runners are for sale you'd think there must be thousands and thousands still out and about... and many, if not most, are not listed as for sale. I know from the fender tag when and where the car was built and colors and options and that it was a special order car. I was also able to find out the car was originally sold to a dealership in San Diego, CA on October 30, 1968 (same dealership where I purchased my original 69 Road Runner on December 1, 1968); it stayed in San Diego for approximately 10 years, then sold to second owner in Shawnee Oklahoma, then sold to third owner in Boise, Idaho, then forth owner in Wichita Kansas, then finally in May of 2015 I purchased it and it came back home to Southern California where it now resides. I got all this (possibly true) information from the prior owner, who was an "intelligence officer" in the Air Force and had, according to him, the resources to conduct such research. I'd like to think what he told me was accurate, but who knows for certain???!!! The majority of these cars have lived a very mysterious life... a life we'll likely never really know. I'd give anything to know if my original Road Runner is still alive and if so where is it?? I spent ten years trying to find it and finally gave up. I don't do twitter or facebook, so I am at a disadvantage. I email and text and that's about as much social media stuff that I engage in.

thanks when i was building this car i was going to paint it flat black and beat the hell out of it . then the guy i bought it from gave me the build sheet and tag and told me it was a real white car ya big deal i thought . then one day i called someone who sold alot of these cars in 69 and i was told that they only sold one white 69 and that was an A 12 car . so i built this just like she was born alpine white single stage with stripes .
and thats when i fall in love with the car . i have seen a hand full of white 69s but not sure they were real ones .
thanks for the info

Has anybody gone to go to www.cruisinsocal.com, then to Articles and scrolled all the way down to the last article - that was probably one of the most interesting articles that I have ever encountered, and after reading through it (it is lengthy) it becomes fairly clear why it is so difficult to backtrack any of these cars. Most have little to no trace of the actual history, unless you are fortunate enough to actually know the original owner or can make contact with the original owner!!!
