Looking good their Sixtynine_Bird. The motor sounds killer buddy. Think we all know about the cost of building one of these car's. Nothing is cheap. It is getting pretty bad when you cant even go into a place and buy food or have a beer. Good luck on the car and waiting to see more pic's . :thumbsup2:

Thanks Russ, yes you're can't wait to see it done and have the pleasure to say for the first time in 5 years "fire in the hole!" lol I guess my ears aren't ready for that sound ^^

You will notice a huge difference going to the Mcleod twin plate. Alot smoother, especially on the way back up. The first few times I drove my RR, i got jelly leg from the original clutch. Hadnt pushed down on a clutch that tough since my Dad drove a 1986 Ladncruiser Troop Carrier. That thing would make you knee yourself in the face everytime you let the clutch out. Also the only vehicle Ive ever driven with a longer shift stick thatn my Roadrunner!troopy.jpg

Part of the factors are rr are fairly heavy car, as horsepower goes up the spring pressure needed on a single disc clutch also goes up which means leg workout goes up. Twin disc distributes that pressure so easier on leg. Regular throw out should work but I really like my hydraulic. They run about 600$

I just had my RST twin disc setup relined with their RXT package, good for up to 1000hp according to Mcleod. Probably the last setup in their lineup before going to a full-race clutch. The RST was definitely a big improvement, especially from slip-engagement. Alot smoother than the factory single disc I had on there before.

Hello guys,

How is it going out there with all that COVID situation?
Hope you and your families are doing ok and can enjoy your rides.

Here, the car is finally back from paint jail. We get it back home in June. Since then, a lot have been going on. The rear end is assembled except for the bumper as well as the front end. Hood grill are in with homemade grill, as we don't have an air grabber the grill will extract the hot air from under the hood at least a little bit we hope lol.
Start the reassembly process on the inside. Windows are in and adjusted (was a bit of a pain ^^). the rear bench seat is in place as well as the rear door panel arm rest window handles etc. Now we are waitin on the motor to move forward on the interior assembly. So in case something is wrong once everything is wired etc we can remove the dashboard without any troubles.

We mock up the Magnum force front end, and the car is finally siting on all four for the first time in five 5 years! What a feeling!
We also received the new tires for the steelies, put them on the car and we just love the look it gives to the car! Nitto drag radials 275/60/15 for the back and up front Vitour radials 225/70/15.

About the engine :
We received our last order from Us for that project, that is a good news for the wallet lol
The engine is also back from the machine shop, it has been squared with zero deck and sleeved on the left bank for cylinders 1/3/5/7. The other side had a perfect thickness cylinder wall but on that side for some reason the casting wasn't that great from the factory and with that kind of prep it was safer to sleeve it.

The rotative assembly has been balanced with the flywheel and clutch, the machine shop did a really good job!
The clutch housing has been centered with the flywheel too.
Now the guy who his building our engine has everything to begin the build. He told us that it should be done by the end of the month.
We went to his house to see the block and pick up some parts that has been shipped to his place but doesn't need them for the the tti headers and clutch discs etc. and also we saw the new parts like the carb (Demon 850cfm) the eletronic ignition distributor coil ignition box etc.

So now here is a couple of pics of everything mentioned above

As you know we choose to go with 400 block stroked to 451. The previous owner almost never run the engine, and when it was disassembled we saw that the oil was still the breakin oil. Every parts looked brand new! Eagle piston and rods, Indy heads with indy roacker arms and valve train, as well as valve covers.
The only thing we've changed is the crank bought one from 440 source and the mains bearings for the crank.
And we also modified the grey vavle cover with a special black texture paint that almost gives the look of the Ferrari valve covers. We kinda like how it turned out. Prior to that we epoxied them and after apply that black paint. We let the letters bare and brushed the aluminum to give it a newer look and it should match what we did on the aluminum radiator.
