Yes the same old song and dance. They try to run an shell game on us. The big thing is if they want you to put the money in an escrow company before they ship the car that is big clue. If they tell you they are out of the country that is another clue and claim they are in the service over sea's. With a big sob story. I said it before if I can see it in person or put my hand's on it then it is a no go. Buyer beware.

do you mean if you “can’t” see it in person ? If I CAN see one in person and exchange cash for car it makes me feel a lot more comfortable.

Yes that is what I recommend. Was ready to fly to different place's in the country. But found this one close to home. It was not a drive but the motor sounded good. Think they put all the money in the motor. It had a lot of issues but for what I paid for it think it was a good deal.

Looks like Ranger is right about the website Joe posted. I contacted four of them, two weeks later, still no replies.

Interesting reading through all these posts about the 68 Road Runner going back to the original owner. So rare to hear of such a thing, but I'm sure the original owner would have to be very excited. I tried for years to track down my original 69 Road Runner. I never kept any records, and for any possible records, they would have ended up with my ex-wife, who tossed everything even remotely related to me (that was in 1975), and would have included anything relating to the car. I even talked to friends who were retired law enforcement and recall the car, but dead-end there as well, so I decided to move forward and made the purchase of the one I now have... that is right body style (post car) and exact color (Ivy Green). But it sure would have been great to get my original back. In actuality, it likely long gone to the graveyard. The 383 was significantly modified and ran consistent mid 12's... was raced hard, and most likely the next owners did the same, so it may or may not still be above ground!! Here is a photo of me next to my original Road Runner (photo taken late 1969)My 69 Roadrunner.jpg

Hello again, it's been two months and Mark's is the only response I have gotten from someone with one for sale. It appears he and I are the only ones willing to part with their Road Runner. I have checked shipping cost and I am now willing to purchase anywhere is the US for the right 1968 Road Runner. Thank again, Robert
