Fitting up the trim around the rear convertible well opening noticed my trim sits like the attached pics. Glad I checked this as the repro 1/4 will need some massaging. But my question is .. is there a sealer or moulding that goes under the trim? This would be a huge water pocket if not. 4F78D7A5-8EE6-46B1-8CAF-94634062AA8C.jpeg AD716E7C-DA8B-4265-94B0-4E5B648FF3A3.jpeg

Are you talking about the height that is sticking above the panel? That is the way they are. It is for the clips on the boot to attach to.

thanks, I thought so on that. What is used as a barrier between the trim and the sheetmetal? That would seep water if not sealed.

None from the factory that I am aware of. Most likely why that ledge is ALWAYS rusted out.

Finally on the ground too. Gaps look good a little more work at the rear convertible trim area of the new quarter panel needed but getting close to some color. Should be blue in 2-3 weeks.
