Have all the plug's and wires figured out but one has me stumped. Red and black wire to the left of the steering column. Looked on the diagram just don't see it any where. The plug is L shaped. Figured out all the other's but this one. The wiring harness worked out grate with adding the A/C buying the harness for an A/C car. The classic air wiring was not all that bad either. Want to get the dash buttoned to the window pinch weld. So I can get the steering column in this week. One more thing the plug form the under dash harness to the trunk harness was a little different. From the trunk their was a violet wire and the dash plug has a white wire with a black tracer. All the other wires are rite. What would be the reason for that. Will call year one tomorrow and ask if they ran out of violet and used the white wire with black tracer. Any info would appreciate it. Russ.

Thanks for the info. Yes those are hard to miss. These both go into one plug L shaped. Wires are about 18 gauge. Something not rite. Not even on my wiring diagram. Thought it went to the flasher or something like that but have it found. Just got me on this one. The amp meter have eyelets on them about 10 gauge wire.

How much length? Could it be your reverse light, parking brake, or door jamb switch wire?

Thanks roadrunninMark. I have all those nailed down. I might look at that reverse switch again. It is not too long that is what got me. Will post a pic. I have a yellow with a black tracer and think that is my reverse light switch wire for what I have seen. Have one orange wire that should be console wiring.

So here is the wire in question. In my hand. I appreciate you guys helping me this is the only one I have not nailed down. This is an L shaped plug. Not unless it has something to do with the tach. So to morrow will get the tach wiring harness out and see. IMG_0101.JPG

I dont think it is tach as it uses the body to ground out. How about a clock instead? It may be too short for that though. Looks like it needs to go right to the left of the instruments. That red looks a lot thicker than just a small voltage carrier.

Thought it might have something to do with the Heat but have that covered. It is a A/C harness with console. Also told them I would have a tach. Said I would have a rear defrost also. That is the only thing I could think it could be. But don't see it on the wiring diagram. The defrost switch should be on that side form what I have seen in pictures. With people throwing thing's out their we just might figure it out. The Tach should have a wire that goes to the coil in the engine bay.

I think you got it, either a/c or the defroster control. Ill see if I can get a confirmation on that.

Thanks that sure look's like it. But did not see that on the diagram. It makes sense now. So their are two one for emergency and one for turn. Will also look at the old harness. Left those on it. You know these diagram's are tricky. Maybe was over thinking it. LOL. :thumbsup2:

One last thing I do not have an Amp Meter in my dash cluster. So thinking to put an under dash one in my after market gauges. So where to get that circuit breaker is the question. What a can of worm's LOL.

gauge pod.jpg Convert your amp meter to a volt meter. Do you have a rally or non rally dash? I just converted my amp meter to a voltmeter (non rally dash). It looks exactly like the amp meter but will measure the voltage. Take a look at this thread: https://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/threads/family-tradition.8368/page-54#post-219640 specifically start at POST #1069 (page 54 from member PROPWASH)

I used the Sunpro 2" Voltmeter (P/N CP8205) as he shows. Looks factory and no fires! You will need to either connect the 2 wires from the original amp meter wiring together or do the mad electrical upgrade (I think that is what it is called). Then just follow the directions that came with the voltmeter to hook it up. :)

I've also done a 69 charger rally dash amp meter to volt meter conversion. You use a different volt meter. I would have to check which meter that uses but I did get a new vinyl overlay that says "battery". Looked pretty good when it was done. Here is a pic....

Thanks for the info. I have an under dash mount gauge cluster that will go back in the car. Temp-Oil pressure- volte meter. I just paid 1300 to have my non rally dash cluster done. Hooked up the amp meter with the two wires. That braker was if it had a convertible top. Thanks for all the help Just about got it all wired up only a few thing's to finish. They did not give me the plug for the console so will have to brake into the dome light wires to power it up. Just my luck. :thumbsup2:

Well found one last plug that is brown with black tracer. Think it may be something to do with a light but don't see it any where. Or may be an ac control wire. It is close to the Ignition switch but every thing is their on that switch. Any ideas you guy's have been a grate help. Sure would like to button up the dash this week.

Put up a picture again when you can, only thing off hand I can think of is the "reverse" light that goes to the right of that, mounted bottom of dash.
