I have an issue with my flashers in the back not working after they have been for almost six months. I got everything electrical working correctly and then the flashers in the back stopped working. They work on the dash, they work in the front,, tail lights work, rear blinkers work, break lights work, flasher blinks like it's supposed to, removed the flasher and installed a temp jumper wire and the same lights work but didn't blink. Have scoured the schematic and cleaned all connections I know of. I know it's something simple, but for me, as of now, it's an FM,
F---ing Mystery.

I know it's had to have happened to someone before. Everything has. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Not in the steering column. ( but I did find out why my horn wasn't working)
I unplugged the flasher switch on the dash. Turned it upside down ( after fifty two years it didn't like that) The male ends on the switch look the same but there must be a slight difference because it didn't go on or come off easy. Hit the switch, back flashers working! left dash flasher working, left front parking light flashing. Ordering a new switch.
thanks for the help.

Update.
I took the switch apart. ( there are four little tangs that need to be bent out of the way. be careful) Cleaned the contacts, electrical cleaner, cleaned the contacts and plug after 3 tries worked for two blinks then, still making the blinking noise with lights barely visible. Had a beer, checked the blinker and connection, replaced the blinker for $4,,,,all is good!
