Life happens... did I say that life happens?

Like they say on Roadkill, "get it running, not perfect" and I have had enough of life's interruptions keeping my RR sequestered in the corner of the garage on a permanent time out.

I'm starting small and with luck, I will get it turning and burning this summer. Simple enough right? An hour here, thirty minutes there is all I ever seem to have, but at least I have begun the process of CPR on my long dormant 383.

Thanks for having me...

Tom

Thank you, thank you very much. I even made a starter list today and included what I have already accomplished... gotta have that feeling of some accomplishment, even little ones.

I mangled the quote, but it was close enough to live by.

As Freiburger always says, "Don't get it right, just get it running," then get out there and drive. Freiburger is happy to follow his own advice...

I'm starting at the front and working my way back. Mostly because I know that hearing my 383 come out of it's hibernation will, to quote the Stones... "Start Me Up". I've been happy with being able to pre-oil it and getting oil pressure immediately, the condition of the flat tappet cam looks good and the simple fact that there was NO metal hanging on the oil drain plug or in the filter which I checked methodically pleat by pleat. I'd like to see your before and after picture renewal from drag to street.

Tommy, do you have an all original car? Can you check to see if you have the original turn signal rubber stops in your bumper? Here is a pic of what I mean. It is the tiny little rubber "pad" in the center that mounts in the bumper. We are trying to get them reproduced but I need to find an original one first. The one in the pic is not an original. Please let me know if you do have one still. Thanksrubberstop.jpg

If you can check to see if you have them but hold off on removing, I have 2 others that may have them. I will post again here if they do not have them.
