Hi,
I'm new here and currently restoring a 69 roadrunner. I'm trying to find hardware for the hood to fender bumpers. I can find the bumper and studs, what I need is the fastener that is pressed into the fender that the bumper stud screws into.

Any ideas?

Mark first welcome, The hardware your talking about is a raised disc that is threaded for the stud. It appears to be crimped into the fender. I don't know of a source for new ones, Ill let the others chime in before looking for used which could be welded in from the back side. I do have one old fender I would have to look at. Were yours drilled for pins?

Thanks for the quick response! As I move forward with this restoration, I'm sure I'll be using this forum more often.

You're correct. The threaded 'disc' is pressed into the fender. I actually have one but I'm looking for the other so I have a uniform look. I did think about welding something from the underside but I wanted to leave that for a last resort.

As far as I can tell, this was not drilled for pins.

Let me see if I can get this one off

You wouldn't feel compelled to add that last line if the shoe didn't fit your foot so perfectly... :lmao:

AZ Desert,
Mark. I got it off but the tabs broke. I would drill small holes in the fender and tack weld this in from the bottom, Its up to you.

Boy, I gotta start reading this stuff when I'm awake... or sober.. or both..

I thought you were looking for the bumpers, not the nut in the fender.
