Made it to another cruise last night. I was finally able to convince the X to get out the Satellite too. Even got my Dad involved by talking him into getting out his Z3! It was funny as we almost stopped traffic a couple of times driving up there. I enjoyed looking at passing drivers smile...
Here we go again....The car started up fine tonight. After warming it up for a few I jump in and notice my fuel gauge is all the way to the left. Hmm...Then I notice my amp needle isn't moving. So I shut it off and everything goes dead. Turn the key and nothing. Off goes the hood and I...
Yesterday I filled up the RR's tank. A local station across town sells no ethanol 90 grade fuel. I decided to try it and put in 5.46 gallons, topping the tank off. Any of you guys use this? It costs a little over a dollar more per gallon. I only drove it home afterwards, so I couldn't...
Got the x's Satellite running tonight. After a year of sitting, she fired up pretty easy. Went to pull it out of the garage but she was stuck. After a few tries she finally broke free. I ended up taking it around the block (or 3) and when I pulled back into the driveway I coulda swore I saw...
Since buying my RR back in 2006, I've tried to save all of my receipts. For everything, even down to little things such as hose clamps... I've had them all stuffed into several manila folders over the years. During my vacation, I got them out and tried to organize, sort, and calculate them up...
Quick question....What should the volt meter read at idle or under power? Mine's reading 14 volts. The amp meter is reading "Charging." For some reason I was thinking the volt meter should be higher....
My current steering box has a ton of slop and play in it, and it definitely needs to be replaced. Im thinking of replacing my box with a new (re manufactured) box from Steer and Gear and hoping to pick one up at Carlisle. My question for those of you that have done so already, is what do you...
The weather was great last night after work. Didnt really go far....just up to my parents house and around town for a few. Just enough to keep me reminded of how much I enjoy the car...
Thats my Dad. What's hidden in the picture is his BMW Z3. He loves it, although he rarely drives it...
One more quick question if I may..... Being a 4speed, I use my parking brake frequently. Upon releasing the pedal, it doesn't raise up enough to shut the light off in the dash. I can pull the lever farther up, and eventually I can manage to get the light off.
So...is there a spring or...
Do you guys use some sort of prop rods for the hood while at a show or something? If so, are they available to buy? Or did you guys fabricate something?
Thanks!
A few guys at work finally convinced me to try one....I just bought a S&W Shield in .40cal last night. These things have been pretty hard to find since they came out last year. Then with the panic, they've been all but impossible to find. Smith is saying they're about 20,000 9mm versions...
Last night I had the opportunity to take the bird out. I tried two weeks ago, but the no start/no power reared it's ugly head and I had to cancel. Last night things seemed to come together and all went well. The '69 is my X father-in-law's original bird. Ive been dreaming of getting them...
For the life of me I cant find an easy solution, so maybe it doesn't exist...I have a reproduction wood grain shifter knob with fine threads. My stick is a newer Hurst Competition Plus with coarse threads.... Is there any way to use the knob on this stick?? Ive been to all the auto stores...
I realized that I don't have a key for my locks. That never crossed my mind last year when everything was apart. Is it possible to take the car to a locksmith to get a key made? Or am I stuck with removing the cylinder?
Or from what I can tell anyways....I bought my Road Runner. I found it in early April 2006 at a local auto salvage place while on a call there. It was entirely covered in snow, but I knew it was something cool. I really didn't have any knowledge at the time regarding these old cars. My only...
A few years ago while my RR was getting the motor work done, the shop owner said that in his opinion the pinion bearing was starting to go bad. His recommendation was to have me come back whenever I started to drive the car constantly. Well, i guess that time is finally here.
So, how...
Hey guys.... A couple of quick questions........
First, how do you guys clean your seat belts? My belts are pretty dirty after 40+ years. The buckles are rusty in spots, but nothing Im too worried about. Id just like to get the webbing cleaned up so it doesnt get my clothes dirty every time...
I finally got the new wheels last night. I had originally wanted to go with SS Cragars, but the cost was quite a bit. (Sorry, Dave...) The Cragars are about $170/wheel, and I got these for abut $110/wheel.
These are Summit brand wheels, similar to the Cragars i suppose. After looking at the...
Yesterday was a pretty good day. I've been wanting a Colt revolver for quite awhile now. I really want a Python, as it's one of my grail guns. Ive bid on a few on gunbroker, but I cant spend past that $1500 mark. Nowadays, though, they're going well over that. So, Ive been eye balling this...
