Well,

Further investigation........if I'm correct, the ENGINE # listed above is NOT the VIN# but the DATE code number. This number is taken off of the lower LH of the motor under the starter opening.

I will be looking for the VIN# stamping tomorrow. If I'm correct, it should be on the lower rail on the right side of the engine.

My research reveals this is a 1971-72 400CI motor.................

Any info greatly appreciated.

LG,
Mike

Well,
If I'm correct, the number 17782 A, taken from the block near the starter, is a DATE code. My research indicates it is APRIL 4, 2010...............

I'll be looking for the VIN# tomorrow..........

Any info greatly appreciated..............

LG,
Mike

Well,
I checked by pad on the RH by the distributor for some numbers with NO LUCK.

Any suggestions where I may find the VIN# stamped on the motor??

Thank you in advance,

AZ Desert,
On a B block it might be found next to the oil pan near the passenger side motor mount

Thanks, I will try and see what I can find. Will be under it again today. Spent half a day trying to install the STARTER and still not bolted on yet. The Hooker long headers make it quite a task...............Should be able to mate the tranny to the motor this morning. I'm NOT looking forward to installing the top two bell-housing bolts either................LOL

Hope I can come up with a number................

OK
I found the engine ID#. It is taken from the RH of the motor just above the oil pan.

The number is " 2C208217 "................

Can anyone tell me what this came of of.

Thanks,
Mike
