So I purchased a fan shroud from summit racing. It does not fit. It's at least 2 inches or so too wide. I've had the car a year this month. I knew the radiator looked really good when I bought it but figured it was correct. Anybody else have this issue?

My radiator is bigger than what came in the car. With motor swap by some one they put a larger radiator in the car. When bolting to the rad. support it over shot the holes by a lot. Call summit up and measure from the mounting holes on the radiator for the shroud and see what they say. They have been pretty good on working with me. Russ.

If its the correct radiator to the car they came with both 22" and 26" cores. Measure how wide the opening is on the support.

Not sure what you are dealing with, but my '69 Road Runner (383) has the oem 22" radiator still in it. I purchased my shroud (and mounting brackets) from Mega Parts. It fir perfectly.

Mine is 26". I ordered the 2785434 mopar shroud. It overshoots the studs by 2 inches.

Aftermarket radiator? What does the core itself measure?

Yes I assume it's aftermarket. It's a remake of the original and is stamped with the Mopar star. It's says it will fit a 1969, 426 Hemi, 440 or 383 big block.

It will run cooler with a shroud. If it isn't running too warm under normal operating conditions then I wouldn't worry about it. JMHO.

It takes bout 30mins an starts running bout 200. But I when it hits 180 I shut it down. 200 seems high to me so I just drive around the block couple times dont no much so better be safe than be dumb an expensive if dont need to. Thanks for the info

So you have not had the car long. Would put a shroud on it. Will help cool the rad. better. Your loosing air being pulled through the rad. Would drain the cooing system put good anti freeze/ coolant in it. Change the thermostat. I run a 160 thermostat. In 383 motor. Running around and at idle 190 so far.
