I was encouraged to share my current project which is underway - up next is my A4 silver 1969 Roadrunner.
The Superbee is a special car in its own right - one of 99 440 six pack cars built in 71. A car loses with options making it all that more unique. It’s a GF7 dark green metallic with two tone green bucket interior. Over the summer I stripped the car down and mounted it on my rotisserie and soda blasted it. Then I began cutting out and replacing the front and rear floor pans. The car was very clean with minor rust in each floor section, trunk and lower quarters. All was half dollar size but I want the car done right so all new full AMD panels were ordered and being spot welded into place.

I had welded some golf cart hubs onto the ends of the rotisserie so I could mount some fat golf cart tires to it so that it could smoothly roll out into the gravel for soda blasting

Last month took the car off the rotisserie and mounted back on the lift to keep the car square while I cut out the trunk pan, extensions then onto both rear quarter panels.

Onto the passenger side - inside structure like the drivers side was cleaned and sealed - will begin tomorrow prepping the new panel, applying sound deadner and painting the inside of the panel and the inner structure before welding into place

Here is a pic of the next project and the reason I joined this site - the 1969 Roadrunner - is an A4 silver w Silver interior and black stripes car that someone painted green at some point

Nice work on the Bee. A4 is a beautiful color on a '69. Both should be awesome rides.

Yep. Real good work. Know you can't wait till it is done. The project I have is getting closer. Did not get a rotisserie for my project. Seen the only thing that it would have helped on was welding up side down. But handled it any way. Good luck guy with all the project's and yea keep the pic's coming.

I put bed line on mine. Figured it would work as good. If not will put the heat shield in their that you peal and stick. Like for the floor board. Good work keep it up.

I used spray on Boom Mat. It’s the closest thing to the factory applied spray on and is what many restoration shops use. You can buy half a dozen 18oz cans online as a set for $60 w free shipping
