When the camera pans across the Congressmen, you can see some that appear to be totally ignoring (not paying attention to) what she's saying. It's hard to believe that anyone as articulate as she is - could be disrespected that way by the representatives who are being paid to act on the behalf of the citizenry. The subject matter is important. - And her ability to articulate her experiences does not overshadow her passion. As much stuff such as this that I have seen over the years, it never ceases to appall me. Honesty and integrity have become rare in government today.

I hate to say it but I tend to shy away from commenting openly online about politics for just the same reason that she talks about. It's not that I am uninterested or that I don't have an opinion. But I have seen too many examples of retribution. I think many voices have been silenced because of that fear.
