common fuel pump rod problem

I guess the new rods from mopar are not hardened properly


I had this one in two different motor for only 2000 miles and it is worn out

so i bought a hardened one from hughes engines in illinois

Yup - we have talked about this problem. Shortly after I put my Comp cam in my old pump rod looked just like yours. Make sure to get Hughes' magnetic drain plug to get all the metallic debris out of the engine and change the oil OFTEN! Also use a high quality filter to get the small bits of metal out of the engine. Since I went with Hughes' hardened rod I've had no problems.
