Do you have to remove the trans to change engine rear seal

I read the post about the problem with the leaking rear seal. I ordered the rear main seal kit from Mancini. The mechanic has never done a rear seal change on a Roadrunner and belives this can be done with the transmission installed.

So my question is: can you change the rear main seal with the transmission installed?

You can do it without pulling the tranny. Not the easiest job but yes you can.

I have seen it done, but I wonder if the time involved would be less if the tranny was removed.

This type of tool works pretty good unless the seal is old and brittle.

I change my seal 3 times already.finally got it to stop leaking by putting a rope seal in it.was the easiest real seal I ever did in the car with the trans in!
