Can somebody tell me on my 70 road runner which I’m sure should be the same as a 69 road runner where the main engine ground should be that I could check on it and I know there’s one by the battery that goes to the Radiator support. But I was wondering where the engine to frame or body is located pics would help thanks John

all my B Bodies have had a ground from the right rear head to the firewall.

Just tighten up all hot leads and grounds scrape behind the ground connections make sure there’s no rust

alternator actually was my first thought. Is it overcharging?
Not really I believe it was a little under 14, I’m thinking the alternator shorted out that terminal was loose but I think it became loose because the insulator melted a little bit?
Another thing I noticed was kind of peculiar to me was someone did a Her Tronics conversion and it still has the ballast resistor in the System ,
so I pulled out the instructions to the per Tronics because they left the box in the car with the points and everything that they took out and it says to leave it in there that it works with it.
which I thought you would want 12v not six or seven after being cut down from the ballast resistor or does the per Tronics wire up differently?

OK here’s a picture of the passenger side engine block trans area.
I don’t see any ground?
I was going to use this negative battery cable from the firewall to a trans bolt?

I put this valve cover to firewall ground also I put this valve cover to firewall ground also and I tested Both sides disconnected both ways

I would prefer one from a starter bolt to the battery or too the frame. Yes make sure all connections are clean. :thumbsup2:

Charging fine 14 ish I still have an analog tester.
The ugly red wire is my ele choke wire
And no I didn’t drill a hole it was a plastic grommet hole that I put the wire through haha

Is their a rubber grommet around that wire if not I would put something their so the wire dose not chafe on the metal hole. Wires do move you know. Russ. :thumbsup2:

The inverted hole in John's pic is used for a plastic nail that holds the firewall insulation up that someone repurposed it for a wire, so the grommet size would be a mystery.
