Seller’s Description:
I recently inherited the vehicle, had it appraised by a member of the International Vehicle Appraisers Network in Indianapolis, Indiana. The appraisers comments are as follows:

On August 22, 2016 , I personally visually inspected and evaluated the vehicle described below for the purpose of providing an estimation of the vehicle's fair market value today. I inspected the vehicle's engine/engine compartment, exterior, interior, and chassis. The evaluation is based upon preservation/ restoration, maintenance and/or replacement costs.

Vehicle Make & Year: Plymouth Road Runner, 1971

VIN: RM23N1C155568 Body Style: Hard Top
Color: Sassy Grass Interior (color/material): Black Vinyl

Special Features

Machine Gun exhaust tips, Black Transverse Tape Stripe, bright drip rail moldings, hood tie down pins, factory AM radio. Non original 440 Six Barrel with a 4 speed manual transmission. Hurst shifter with pistol grip. Road Runner horn.

Comments

Engine/Engine Compartment: (Overall Condition Grade # 2-)

440 cu in with three 2 bbl Holley carbs. Factory Six Barrel air breather. Chrysler Corp. radiator, stainless Hooker Competition Headers, Accel Electronic Ignition with Super Coil. New Duralast battery. Gates belts. 6 blade flex fan. All wiring neatly placed. Engine compartment clean. Bottom of motor is oily due to a previously leaking oil filter.

Chassis: (Overall Condition Grade #2) Uni-body Construction support rails and under side of body is under coated and clean. Rear Differential and springs are painted. Fuel tank is painted with some flaking. Front suspension is fairly clean. Front disc and rear drum brakes. No rust. Stainless 2 1/2” exhaust with H pipe, dual chamber mufflers. Factory Machine Gun Tips. Center Line Wheels with Firestone S/S Radial tires, P275/60R15 rear, P225/70R15 front.

Interior: (Overall Condition Grade # 2) Black Vinyl seats and door panels. Black Vinyl dash cover. Black carpet slightly faded in areas, but in good condition. Head liner good. No tears anywhere in interior. Aftermarket tachometer mounted on dash. Aftermarket 4 gauge cluster mounted under dash. Some paint work off of driver's kick panel near door. Original shoulder harnesses mounted in original place. Shifter boot plate needs a fit adjustment where it rounds to top of hump. Pioneer AM/FM/CD mounted in the glove box with rear shelf speakers.

Exterior: (Overall Condition Grade #3-) Paint finish is excellent! There are some bubbles under paint on left rear lower quarter panel in front of wheel and rear of rocker. Also bubbles on right rear lower quarter in front and behind wheel, and right front lower fender by wheel. Paint bubbles are considered “visible rust”. There is a very small waive in body line above left rear wheel. All bright work is in excellent condition. All glass good. Body panels, hood and trunk have nice fit. Trunk is in excellent condition with factory mat. No visible rust in trunk. Trunk is coated through out. Front bumper is chrome, rear bumper is painted body color.

Summary/Comments

(Condition code: #1 Excellent, #2 Fine, #3 Very Good, #4 Good/Fair, #5 Poor/Restorable, #6 Parts Car)

This is a very nice example of a Road Runner. Total production for 1971 is 14,218. This car originally came with a 383 cu in engine and an automatic transmission. Car was purchased in 1998 by owner's father with engine and transmission swap completed prior to purchase. HP rating and gearing is unknown. Engine sounds strong with a hotter than stock cam shaft. Due to a small amount of visible rust in lower quarters, even though paint, fit and finish is considered fine, the most the exterior grade can be given is a 3-. Because of the small visible body rust, but given the condition of the rest of the vehicle, overall condition code is a 2-.

Price: $33,000 negotiable
