Fuel filler neck

Have a replacement fuel filler neck with the bevel (raised line?) around it. How far does this mark sit into the grommet and into the tank? This one does not seem to go into the tank very far

The raised part bumps up against the outside of the grommet

Thanks Bob... I'll have to double check but I don't think mine is fitting all that great (or correctly)
