Hi all, just joined the forum about half an hour ago. I own two Runners - a ‘70 383 Pistol Grip bench seat car and a ‘73 340 Slap Stik car. They are both numbers matching. I’ve owned the ‘70 since 1990 when I was 16 and the ‘73 since 2010. They are far from perfect (at least in my eyes) but I still take the ‘70 to a show every now and then. The ‘70 was road worthy when I got it but far from stock. Being in high school at the time, I didn’t have a lot of money to spend on it so I would buy parts here and there whenever I could and work on during the summer months. Luckily the car was mostly original with many factory parts still intact and anything that was removed came with the car when I got it. By 1996 I was able to have the car painted and put it back together to a mostly stock condition and appearance. I’ve always been a fan of the stock appearance but with a few engine or performance mods here or there. Even though I come from a GM family, my brother owns a ‘65 GTO he’s had since 1982 and we have my late fathers unrestored all original ‘66 GTO that he purchased new, I’ve been a Mopar/Road Runner fan since I was about 13. One reason for that is due to my uncles ‘74 Road Runner that he is the original owner of. Hearing his stories of other Mopars he owned and being around that car really turned me onto Road Runners, not to mention the history behind the Road Runner concept...and the quirkiness of the cars. I have worked in auto parts all of my life and currently work for NAPA where I have been for 14 years. It’s always great talking cars with customers and it’s really cool when a fellow Mopar enthusiast comes in. I have made many great friends through my job. Well, sorry to ramble on but thanks for allowing me to join and I’m looking forward to learning some stuff and maybe I can help someone along the way. Here’s a few pics if you wanna check them out...sorry I couldn’t figure out how to display them in the text!
