I just picked up a well abused 69 RoadRunner but I plan on pumping some life back into her so she can live another 40 years.

I have to resist the urge to completely tear it apart which is what usually happens when I get something. I would like to pull the engine and tranny (need to replace the clutch).. I can then clean up the engine compartment and paint it as well as the engine then work on repainting the body. The engine (383) has a single plane Torker on it and a Holley 750 double pumper but I think it would run better on the street with a dual plane manifold and maybe a 650 carb? any suggestions? I don't want to restore it I just want to make it a nice looking driver. The only rust looks to be under the vinyl which I plan on replacing although it has the 1/2 top on it? I would like to put a full top on it which is what it came with according to the tag. Hopefully it will fit under the front window trim piece? not sure if they replaced it when they put the 1/2 top on it, doesn't look like there is much room to slip the vinyl under it. The rear fender lip in on one side has been rolled in but they cut it of on the driver side so I don't know if I will try to weld a lip back on or leave it for now.
I plan on asking a lot of questions of the experts here
