I have been researching the correct rear end for my 71 Hemi Roadrunner and everything points towards a 70-72 B body 3.54 Trac-Lok 603222-1, -2
Can anyone tell me why it says -1 or -2?

When you measure the rear end is it from outer brake backing plate to outer brake backing plate and does anyone know what the measurement should be for a 71 RR Hemi 4 speed car?

Last question - front disk brakes I am told it should have 11" drums on the rear? I have also heard 10" drums??

Thanks

A33 - 3.54:1 Dana 60 Track Package. I guess the rear I found with 11" drums is for a TAA or AAR

I don't believe any T/A Challenger or AAR 'Cuda had a Dana 60 installed since they were only 340 cars (albeit 6 BBL's.) I know my '69 Road Runner with Hemi suspension option and non-floating Bendix 4 piston calipers up front has 10" x 2" rear drums (same as a 318 Satellite). In '70 the discs became single piston/ full floating mounted. Perhaps since the '71's were a bit heavier they went to 11" rear drums. Do you know the shoe width on the rear? Should be less than 3" wide - perhaps 2-1/2".

I don't know the width - its a rear end I was looking to purchase. My car is a B11 on the fender tag for front disk brakes and from what I am able to determine it should have a rear with 10" drums. Now the question is do I still buy this rear and convert it over?

Does it have holes to attach a pinion snubber? If it does not have them it is out of a truck. My '69 GTX has a 4:10 dana and it has 11x2.5 drums on the rear.

you get 11 drums if you have drums all around I wanted to say you only got 10in drums with disk brakes in front---so if you have a dana out of the drum brake only car you got 11 in in back---if you got disk on the front you will have 10in drums in back ---only the T/a and AAR had disk and 11in drums in back

Its got the snubber and the holes. looks like everything is pointing towards a rear out of a 71 B Body with four wheel drum brakes thus the 11" drums. I know I could swap out the 11" to a 10" but at $2500 asking price not sure I want to have to do that.

My '69 GTX has the 4 piston Kelsey Hayes power disc in front and 11x2.5 drums in rear. I purchased from original owner in '76 so I know it came this way.

At that price, unless you are building a numbers car, I would go with a Strange 60 axle. If you buy this 45 year old axle, you are most likely going to need to go through it. You can have a brand new, bullet proof axle that will bolt in, and have a warranty. :cents:
