Did anyone watch Pawn Stars tonight ? The son Cory bought his dream car at an action , a 69 Plymouth roadrunner. $53,000 after fees . Its a Hemi car now , was a 440 car .

Suprised the "ol Man" let him buy it as he always crying about what cory does along with chumly.

I didn't see that episode but saw preview to next weeks episode. There was a flash of a roadrunner on the screen with a few other toys and then talk about Cory seeing someone about financial planning. Maybe it'll be up for sale soon ??

It wouldn't surprise me . As soon as they got back to the shop with the car the grandpa said to Cory ,you can't keep it !

Can't believe anything you see on that show. If they paid 53,000 for a car, they'll want to sell it for 75,000. You just aren't gonna get that for an unoriginal Hemi car unless it's flawless. And it wasn't an original 440 car either. I stopped watching that show because they make stuff up to make it interesting. Anyone remember the buick skylark (or cutlass, I can't remember) with the bone stock 350 chevy in it? They were claiming it had close to 400 horses.........c'mon.

I know its not true , nothing on TV is true but it is entertaining and good for a laugh . Even the news is BS and embellished , especially Fox News ! :yesnod:

Ummm since there's a couple references to "original 440 car" a couple times here..... Let's have a little lesson in engine availability.

The only 440 engine option in the 69 Roadrunner was the A12 440 6bbl option.

In 1968 you could only get the Hemi or the 383. In 1970, the 383, Hemi or 440 6bbl was available and you could get a 440 4 bbl, 440 6bbl or the Hemi in a Superbird.

There could have been a 440 in the car, just not when it left the factory. And if it were an A12 car that someone swapped for a Hemi, well, that's just dumb. Just my opinion.

If you reread big johns post it should help explain it. There could very well be a 440 in it but it wouldn't be the original engine unless it had a six pack, 3- 2 barrel carbs. The 440 six pack performed better than the hemi hence the post that Panther made about it being a bad switch. When I got my 69 it had a 440 in it but the badges said 383. I didn't know any better then myself, but now I know why when I said it had a 440 in it everyone asked if it was a six pack.
