Random car thoughts

Just got my car out of storage Saturday. Just a few random thoughts:

My fender tag is pretty "naked." My car must have been a stripped
coupe, and that is perfectly ok with me. I read that lynch road tags
will reveal a lot. If that is the case, there isn't much to say.

My car is a number 3 car. That's how I classify it based upon my reading and
research. I think half the battle with these things (especially up here in the
northeast) is the fear of buying a rot box. Guys, I don't have any. I have
some bubbling below the rear corner of each door, and that is about the
extent of it. My doors, jams, trunk, floor, and rear window panel are solid.
the quarters and fenders are straight. Chrome is awesome. I don't think this
car has ever seen an accident.

I know a guy that used to mix one part linseed oil, one part wd-40, put it
in a spray bottle, and soak the inside of his doors on a 1981 cutlass. A lot of
residue would drip out, it smelled odd for a day or two, but his doors were
perfect, and those cars have a tendency to rot badly. Anyone ever heard of
this old concoction?

I did order the powermaster starter a few of you had advocated. Looking forward
to it finding its way into my car. Thanks.

Want to get this thing painted. Not happening yet though.

Good to be back active on the site with the season starting. So pleased to be
a lucky owner of one of these cars. I was showing my wife this site the other day.
She was rather impressed with all of the reference material that is provided.

That's it. Just wanted to talk some car stuff right now.

know what you mean about the tag, other then the auto trans, and the trim on the drip rails my RM21 has no options. Let us know what you think about that Powermaster starter once you get it in, I love mine so far, to the point where I bought one of their alternators too...

This is either a typo or you have been seriously misinformed, Sam. LR tags are the absolute worst for documenting a car's original equipment. This is a widely known fact in the RR community.
