Hey Guys, new here I just purchased a 1969 Roadrunner. I have my windshield out and wanted to know what kind of paint I should use to do the edges. I have a little rust and need to replace the clips, should I use something like eastwoods rust encapsulator? Its not all rust just some parts. Would painting it ruin the windshield from sealing?
Thanks!

Welcome!
Use a wire wheel first then the rust encapsulator. Paint will not affect putting the windshield back in. Windshield can be a tough job, get some help. Works better with two people

Your pretty lucky if you found a glass company that knows how to do one.

It wasn't easy I called everyone in my area and they wouldn't do it. I found one that had an old timer working for him and knows how to do it, I got lucky he loves mopars!

Glad you found someone that will do it also. Post some pics of the area with the rust. You can use vinegar and water to treat rust. One part vinegar and three parts distilled water is what I used. Use a piece of stainless steel wool to clean the area then flush with clean water while cleaning with the wool. It wont hurt paint. I used a rust converter to spray on after words. Then painted. Yes on U Tube found some guys putting in a windshield on a 70 runner. They set the windshield into the gasket and before putting it in put sealer in the lower channel and the A pillar. Had to apply a special adherer by 3M. Before the sealing compound was applied. Let us know how it works out for you. :thumbsup2:

I'm cleaning everything up now, its going to take a while. Surprisingly I don't have that much rust so it should go ok. Thanks for the info!
