Introduce Yourself
I'm a lifelong Mopar fanatic and Harley rider.1st auto was a 72 Demon 340,am radio,heater,3spd man. on the floor, dark metallic green, white taillamp stripes & side stripes, std. hood, rallyes. I was hooked. Then came 77 Aspen R/T superpak, 70 trpl blk R/T, SE Charger 440mag.727console.72 rallye 340 727 Challenger white on white. 71 tawny gold ext,GTX ember gold gut 440commando,727 urethane bumpers. My 70 R/T and 71 GTX, were my favorites!! All of those are gone now, wish I had the resources to keep them all. Presently own a 66 Coronet 500 was a 361 2bbl.,dkblue,black buckets 727 on console, needs resto .72 trpl blk Charger 400 and 72 Road Runner 400,727 column sft ,tan bench, Mojave Tan poly, white roof stripe, some jackass jacked the grille! Love the 71,72 b bodies! 2010 stone white Challenger R/T Classic 6spd tremec,3.92 sure grip, track pak. My baby elephant is a blast to drive! The other brand X manufacturers claim the hemi is outdated! Why has the GM LS engines bottom end look soooooo familiar to the skirted, cross bolted gen2 and gen3 hemis?? Check out how the drag pak Dodges fair in factory stock NHRA drag racing against the COPO Camaros & Mustangs. Why has nhra penalized the gen3 hemi, just as they did with the gen 2 hemis in the 60's??Not to forget my parts chaser 97 Ram 2500 Cummins clubcab. 2014 Harley FLHXS for when I need to clear my head and hit the road. The older mopars I have now will never be worth a mint. However, they will be something we can enjoy and drive, hit the dragstrip on occasion and not be afraid to drive the car.
I enjoy building engines, previously worked in an auto machine shop. Also built and painted a couple of Harleys before I had the coin to buy a new one.
By far my favorite Mopars are big block, including the baddest RB block 426 hemi,B bodies. The 71,72 are to me the real deal when we talk about muscle cars. 72 styles were on track but 2 bad boy engines were gone and the survivors had compression cut to ridiculous low levels and performance suffered greatly. Thanks to sites such as this to spread knowledge and parts availability to us gearheads!
