Found myself a great 69 Road Runner

Oh my, magnificent ride! Enjoy it to the upmost!! It needs to “do” MOPAR Nats!! Then I can see it in person!

    1970 Road Runner /440 headers

Super nice, expensive. I replaced my old trusty rusty ones that came on car with Jeg’s brand coated ones. No fitment issues and I’m satisfied.

    Oil weight

IMO, I wpuld probably add a half bottle of Comp Cams additive to be safe and sure the cam/lifters were protected. Hemmings also sells an oil that is supposed to work for flat tappets. Additive would be extra insurance. If one wipes a cam or lifter(s), hunks and pieces go throughout the...

    Oil weight

IMO Any of the quality brands of diesel 15w40 are more than adequate if used with an additive for cam longevity. I use the Comp Cams break in additive EVERY oil change in my flat tappet engines . I autoX and drag race my “toy” cars and have NEVER had a lubrication related failure, they...

What fire extinguisher that won't ruin everything?

CO2 or Halon. Dry powder makes a righteous mess and can ruin a ton of stuff. A lot less expensive and readily available. Better than losing an entire vehicle!

Oil sending unit or gauge or worse?

Lucky the sender didn’t leak. I had one go bad on way back from D C in ‘70 Fury years ago. Middle of nite. Stoped every 50 miles to add cheap oil. Car was rustproofed when I got back to Columbus, OH!:steering::beep:

Hurst shifter and an A833 transmission.

Had same problem. Got a super deal on crank just back from machine shoppe. Assembled engine, putting trans on (thank goodness still out of car). Automatic crank is NOT clearanced for pilot bushing. Oops! Pulled crank had shoppe bore it, now in car and running decent. I would...

    Ugly clutch noises

:beep:Damn! Replied to your message. You are obviously running a bunch more horsepressure than I did with my tired 440 (still ran 14 flat at 107 in 100f degrees) Never had a moments trouble in seven years until I trashed clutch disc facings at Mopar nats! Just talked with Qbird, we are...
