    Exhaust manifold gaskets?

Make sure there is no warpage going on. The factory used nothing there, but most old school guys just wiped a little oil on the surface. Just like you would on the oil filter gasket. When the engine gets hot, it burns the oil and forms a seal. That's how they sealed them back in the day.

    Electric Fuel Pump

Yeah, open headers will definately take care of the noise of the pump!! But on a street car, you don't want to hear your fuel pump growling continuously. That Mallory is super quiet.

    thinking about wasting some money

Fix the leaks and drive it. If it has to come out, then build it up. But don't listen to me. I'd ditch that slush-o-matic and put a stick in it!!! I like to stir mine by hand!!

    Electric Fuel Pump

Chiming in !!! Been running Mallory pumps for a long time. Dependable AND quiet. John, if you are running a single carb, a 4110 is plenty. 110 gph and adjustable from 4 to7psi. Holley pumps are good too, just so damn noisy! Mount it as low and as close to the tank as you can. be sure to run a...

    Interior paint finish

I use SEM trim black #39143 on the flat finish areas. Super tough and coats well. If you are covering bare metal, use an acid etch primer first. U-pol #8 is a superb primer. Both come in a rattle can and are the best I've seen.

    440 vs 383

68 cars DID NOT have a vin stamp on the block. The date code on the block is usually anywhere from 3 to 7 weeks BEFORE the build date of the car. If you have a 383 block with 906 heads, and the date falls inside those times, it would be considered an original block.

    rear end options

Clutch kit for that 8 3/4 is only 75 bucks from Mopar. Maybe 200 bucks for all the bearings and such. I just rebuilt mine. I've run 8 3/4's for years. Pretty damn tough and lighter than a Dana.

    Vintage inspection stickers

We used to have yearly inspections here in Utah. The decal were similar to the pics Roadcuda posted. Now you have to do inspection AND emissions testing to get your car registered. Bunch of crap !!!! But, you can get your car registered as an antique and don't aver have to do either.

Thanks everyone! Yeah, bird # 4 under construction. Was a drag car when I bought it. After I took it home from the guy I bought from, I realized it was a friends car from back in the 80's. It's been on a rotisserie getting new floors, quarters, etc. Now it's wearing a beautiful coat of black...
