- Picked up a 68 roadrunner 11/01/18 from my older brother in a trade. He got my 62 Chevy 2 that was dialed in and I got his rust bucket. (my wife say's "I got snookered") I've since been stripping the car of everything, scraping, brushing, grinding, cutting out and welding floor & trunk pans with some body metal.
The only thing my brother was able to get done before health issues, was rebuild the 383 Roadrunner engine. (Sounds Bitchen) I farmed out the transmission (A833 3 speed with overdrive, or if you prefer, 4 spd overdrive) for a rebuild. (some one changed it out along the way) Used Eastwood products for sealing and undercoating. Rebuilt power steering gear box & pump, all new steering under front end and installed four wheel disk breaks. (Red calipers, chrome booster from the Right Stuff, not completely satisfied with what they referred to as a "complete kit"). Dug down to original paint and will be going into the paint booth soon.
